"What is Osteopathy?"

A highly regulated, Primary Healthcare service to help with acute and chronic pain conditions.

Osteopathy works on the basis that "structure governs function" A.T. Still.

Therefore, the quality of the structure and its ability to function are reciprocally related.

Osteopathic treatment uses a variety of gentle joint manipulation and mobilisation techniques, nervous system stimulus, along with muscle and soft tissue release to restore equilibrium within the body.

Our Approach

H and H Osteopath provides a patient centred, individualised consultation, assessment and manual therapy treatment process for musculoskeletal pain.

This generates a personal treatment/ rehab plan for long term management, understanding and relief from pain.

Each treatment plan is based on the individual patients' needs and expectations from their treatment.

Additionally, H and H Osteopath provides non-invasive Red Light laser therapy to aid efficient and effective recovery, either as an isolated treatment, or complimentary as part of Osteopathic Treatment.

What to expect
(Initial Consultation)

The initial consultation is quite lengthy, so bear with us on that! However, it is very important to gather relevant information including existing/pre-existing injuries, medical conditions and a timeline of your symptomology to make the following processes as safe as possible, but also specific and suitable for you.

After the case history or initial discussion during the follow-up appointment, there will be a physical assessment where we test the range of movement and the integrity and efficiency of muscle, nerves and surrounding soft tissue. Additional tests provide more information for example, a neurological screen, cranial nerve screen or a cardiovascular screen. These are important in the early detection of some medical conditions.

Finally, the part you have come for, treatment and a treatment plan. Helping regain mobility, restore health and enable the body to heal, along with some simple advice for management post treatment, and exercises where appropriate. â€‹â€‹â€‹
